Congratulations to the folks at Beartooth Basin Ski Resort in Montana who kicked off their ski season yesterday:

“Great opening day! Awesome guests, good skiing and happy vibes. We’ll be back in full swing this Friday! Beartooth Highway to the summits will be closed tomorrow from Long lake to the lower rock creek gate 8am-2pm for maintenance. We appreciate their efforts keeping this highway to deep space in good shape! See you Friday!”

Established in the mid 1960 by Austrians Pepi Gramshammer, Eric Sailer and Anderl Molterer, Beartooth Basin is American’s only ski resort operated in exclusively in the summer. Lift tickets cost $50 and the limit capacity at 100 skiers/snowboarders per day. Beartooth is closed today for maintenance and will reopen Friday. They plan on operating daily through July 6th (snow and weather permitting).
