Mountain biker rides steep snowy couloir

Professional mountain biker Alexis Righetti had already skied this famous line in the French Pyrénées near the border with Spain and decided to return to conquer it on his bike. The 400 meter line down the Couloir Central on Cambre d’Aze has a maximum incline of 40° so lets just say Righetti put his brakes to the test but he rode it expertly:

“The Cambre d’Aze is an ultimate spot in the Pyrénées Orientales for mountaineering, steep skiing, and climbing. I’d already done some of its famous couloirs on skis. But I’d never tried them on a bike! So here’s the descent of the Couloir Central by mountain bike. It’s a 400m line with a 35-40° incline. To accomplish this kind of thing, you can’t leave anything to chance. A large number of conditions must be met.”

Cheers to Alexis for finding the perfect activity for the shoulder season between skiing and mountain biking. Bravo!
