With May just around the corner, it’s no surprise that there are just about 25 ski areas still open across the United States. Some of them are set to close in the coming days, others could stay open late into May, and a few could keep lifts spinning into the summer.
In California, it seems likely that skiing will continue at least until Memorial Day, though only at a handful of select resorts. In fact just three ski areas remain open to the public at this point, and only two are still open on the weekdays.
May 26
- Mammoth Mountain – Open 7 days a week through Memorial Day
- Palisades Tahoe – Alpine wrapped up the season on April 26, Palisades will remain open daily through May 26 if conditions allow.
TBD
- Donner Ski Ranch – Open Saturdays & Sundays as long as people continue to show interest and the snow continues to stay on the ground.
