Sunday River‘s closing date was yet to be determined as of this morning, but that’s since changed. The Maine resort has officially announced their closing date as this Sunday, April 27, leaving one last weekend for skiers and snowboarders to take advantage of the 2024/25 ski season on their slopes.
“The Jordan 8 will spin Saturday and Sunday from 8AM-4PM with access to the lift via Boots On. Guest services will be open from 8AM-1PM, and we’ll be hosting a BBQ on the Sliders deck for lunch.” – Sunday River
The mountain has seen 127 inches of snow this season and currently has a base depth of about 12 inches. They area closed today, April 23, through Friday, April 25, but will reopen on Saturday and Sunday for the final weekend. Terrain will be limited to intermediate and advanced runs only.
What’s the good news to take out of the bad news? Skiing and snowboarding on Sunday, April 27, will be completely free. A go-card will still be required to access the lifts, but those hoping to hit the slopes one last time can visit the online store to grab a free ticket in advance.
