Mammoth mascot "Woolly" sends massive backflip.

Landing a backflip on skis is a fairly difficult task on its own. The landing, the takeoff, and the conditions can all determine exactly how difficult it is, but even in the best conditions it takes some serious work to get to a point of landing one comfortably. And that’s before throwing on an entire mascot costume.

Mammoth Mountain‘s mascot “Woolly” the mammoth landed a pretty massive backflip off one of the resort’s park jumps, cleanly throwing and landing the flip with what looks like very little trouble. Impressive stuff for a mammoth!

Spring skiing is just getting going at Mammoth Mountain. “Second season” runs into May, with après parties, pond skims, park parties, the Mammoth Yacht Club, and much more set to go down before the resort shuts down for the summer.
