La Fine-Cup.
La Fine-Cup.

While most North American ski resorts celebrate the end of the ski season with a pond skim and après party, France’s Avoriaz celebrates with one of the wildest soapbox races you’ll ever see.

Hosted by the association La Fine-Équipe in memory of Martin Perrier, La Fine-Cup puts teams of three down the slope with a disguised sliding device, whether it’s made to look like a boat, submarine, car, stretcher or anything else one can imagine. This year’s Fine-Cup was hosted on April 12, featuring plenty of highlights like the house from Up, the couch from The Simpsons, the Ghost Busters, and so much more.

It really is the wildest soapbox race we’ve ever seen and certainly one of the wildest end-of-season parties out there. Nobody seems to do it quite like the French!
