It may be April 9, but that doesn’t mean the ski season is completely over. Many New England ski resorts saw some serious snow last night, with plenty of mountains getting around 5-10 inches in the past 24 hours. But only two resorts in the region saw a foot of snow over the past day, and you can bet they’re enjoying it now.
Stowe, Vermont – 13″
With 13 inches of fresh snow touching down at Stowe over the past 24 hours, Stowe’s base depth is sitting at a healthy 48 inches. At least at least 5” of new snow fell throughout the night last night, with another inch or two potentially falling today. Stowe’s first annual Spring Bash, which includes a pond skim competition, is set to go down this weekend.
Sugarloaf, Maine – 12″
All 12 inches of Sugarloaf’s new snow came down overnight last night, making for what will certainly be a killer powder day today. Windy? Yes. Powdery? Even more so. Sugarloaf has seen 157″ of snow so far this season. What could easily be described as one of the best parties in the ski and snowboard world, Reggae Fest, is set to go down this weekend, beginning tomorrow, April 10, and running through April 13.
