The quality of YouTube videos in 2025 is simply incredible. Instead of going through the gatekeepers of traditional media outlets, talented creators can take their work direct to the audience.
One such talented creator is wildlife cinematographer Jake Davis who just launched a new YouTube channel. In the past Jake has worked with top shelf outlets like National Geographic, BBC, Netflix and Apple TV and he has now gone the path of self publishing. His premier project is a short documentary about winter in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and it is fantastic.
Jake spent two months battling the cold filming with a long lens and RED Camera to capture intimate moments of Yellowstone’s iconic species like coyotes, otters, moose, and bighorn sheep as they adapt to harsh conditions.
Cheers to this one-man show who is creating nature videos that belong in the same league as any and all big hitters from the world of network television and subscription based streaming platforms.
