Earlier this month, New Hampshire’s Whaleback Mountain sent out an email to its subscribers looking to raise $250,000 in order to keep the mountain functional and staff paid through the summer following chairlift problems on the mountain. As of today, March 28, Whaleback has already managed to raise $100,000 through donations.
“This incredible progress is a testament to how much Whaleback Mountain means to all of us. However, we still have a long way to go to ensure that we can complete the necessary repairs, sustain off-season operations, and secure Whaleback’s future.“
Operations for Whaleback’s were suspended following the isolation of a mechanical problem that will require repairs in order to offer top-to-bottom skiing and snowboarding on the mountain during the 2025/26 season. The area remains committed to retaining its staff, summer camp programs, and community music events, but it’s needs help to do so. That’s where the $250,000 come in.
“Please continue to share this message with your friends, family, and fellow Whaleback enthusiasts. Together, we can keep the momentum going and ensure that Whaleback continues to thrive.“
Donations to support Whaleback Mountain can be made here. Whaleback hopes to replace the old chairlift by 2030.
