Juvenile moose attempts to intimidate train

Standing 6 feet tall at the shoulder and weighing up to 1000lbs, adult moose are formidable in size but despite being the largest member of the moose family they are no a match for a train.

This young moose approaching this train on slowly moving down snow covered tracks in Sweden displayed all the telltale signs that often precede an aggressive encounter including laying back its ears and lowering its head. As it approached the engineer attempted to blare its horn to scare it off but it was frozen solid ice and its normally earsplitting volume was reduced to a mild beep.

Thankfully this standoff didn’t last very long and the young moose retreated into the woods. Hopefully this train didn’t get too behind schedule and the moose learned a life lesson about locomotives.
