New Ashford, Massachusetts — When you ask New England skiers which ski resorts should make a comeback, Brodie is near the top of the list.
The Massachusetts ski resort operated from 1939 to 2002, becoming one of the most beloved ski resorts in the state. It shined the brightest during the St. Patrick’s Day holiday, where it hosted various Irish themed-events, including serving green beer and making green snow.
Each year, Brodie hosted various festivities for St. Patrick’s Day, including a Slush Jump. Similar to a pond skim, it featured a large jump that led into a man-made pond. As demonstrated by the video below from 1995, what made this different most tried to jump and crash, not skim through the pond.
In terms of what the ski resort looks like today, it’s basically been abandoned for over two decades now. Back in late 2023, it was announced that a Florida investor bought the ski resort. They planned to reveal more details about their plans, but we haven’t heard anything about their future plans since then.
