Monticello, New York — Holiday Mountain has made many exciting investments since Mike Taylor bought the mountain in 2023, including a quad chairlift, sculpting new trails, and many new snowmaking guns. However, one of the most important investments is new security cameras that were setup across the ski area.
The first reason it’s been an important investment is that it catches wipeouts, which leads to some memorable videos on the company’s Instagram page.
The second (and arguably more important) reason is that it saved a couple of skiers from losing their ski/snowboard equipment. Yesterday, Holiday Mountain shared that they caught a thief who had stolen various guests’ equipment. The ski resort and local law enforcement were able to find three pairs of skis. Thanks to the over 200 security cameras that are set up, they can catch thieves who are either stealing guest’s equipment or property of the ski resort.
Some questioned why they would post something so personal and arguably private to their page. Holiday Mountain gave the following response:
“…We want to send a clear message to thieves — we don’t tolerate it at a small family owned ski area and if you want to steal here — we will go to all extents to catch you and have you arrested. People working hard to pay for their equipment only to have it stolen at a ski resort. We don’t tolerate it — and any would-be theives might think twice next time if at our ski area!”
One guest, who had their kid’s skis stolen by the thief, praise Holiday Mountain for catching the thief:
“Justice for stealing my kids ski’s!!! Couldn’t have asked for a better outcome! Thank you Mike and the staff of Holiday for doing their due diligence to catch this thief.”
In conclusion: Ski thieves, what are you gonna do when Holiday Mountain comes for you?
