Near Washington’s Mount Baker Ski Area lies a legendary road gap. A high cliff allows skiers and snowboarders to cleanly clear the road below. It’s an air best left for the professionals and those with top tier health insurance.
Skier Everest Hughs took a shot at the incredible road gap, landing it but taking a seat on the run out. Usually when you look back at an air on camera, it looks to be about a quarter the size of what it felt like, so I can’t imagine how big this one really felt.
Everest’s buddy Leif Coopman took the first hit of this run, so there wasn’t as much risk as there would be if Everest had gone first. Nonetheless, plenty can go wrong in jumps like this. Props to this guy for slamming this air.
