Snowmobile face plant.
Snowmobile face plant.

Jumping any sort of vehicle has different techniques depending on the type of jump, but controlling how and when you hit the gas is an important skill. This is just as true with snowmobiling as it is with anything else, as this guy learned while trying to hit a little ridge jump.

For a fairly small kicker, this was a pretty dramatic fail. It’s hard to tell exactly what he did wrong (possibly letting off the throttle too early), but hopefully he took a break to analyze before trying to hit it again.

According to the video description neither rider nor sled were damaged in the crash. I find that a little hard to believe given the way the nose hits the ground and the skis bend, but Ski-Doos are resilient machines.
