Wild video from the slopes of Priiskovoe, Siberia where a snowcat from a cat-skiing operation was involved in a rollover accident. The video begins mid-crash but judging by the tracks left in the snow, it looks like the driver simply drove over a convex roll and wasn’t anticipating the steepness of the slope.
The snowcat did not have any passengers at the time of the accident and driver was okay. The machine conveniently landed right side up but no reports on if it was still drivable. Snowcats can get pricey quickly and losing one can bring an entire cat-skiing operation to a halt. Excellent reminder to always be vigilant in the backcountry whether you are skiing or driving a $100,000 snowcat.
