Senior Meteorologist and Lead U.S. Long Range Forecaster at AccuWeather, Paul Pastelok, has issued his long-range spring weather forecast for the United States. Pastelok predicts lingering winter conditions in the Northern regions while the Southeast and Southwest will see a rapid transition to spring.
Northern areas, including the Northwest, the Upper Midwest, and the Northeast, may see temperatures at or slightly below average. When it comes to snow, Pastelok warns year’s cold air may struggle to align with precipitation, reducing significant snowfall events. Skier in these regions might still benefit from some late-season snow but inconsistent cold could limit accumulations.
While long range forecasts should be taken with a grain of salt, its interesting to see what the experts have to say as we look towards the remainder of the ski season.
