If you’re into ski mountaineering and looking for a little competitive challenge, consider signing up for The Audi Power of Four Ski Mountaineering Race which spans the four mountains of Aspen Snowmass through the White River National Forest in Colorado. This year’s race is fully sold out and the waitlist has reached capacity as well, but you should definitely mark your calendars for 2026 if you enjoy Type 2 fun.

“Every year, teams of two embark on a 25-mile course that covers more than 11,000 feet of elevation gain. Pushing through steep climbs, extreme downhills, and exposed traverses, racers may be met with inclement weather, unpredictable equipment, and both physical and mental exhaustion.”

Participating teams start in Snowmass Village, traverse to West Buttermilk, then on to Aspen Highlands where they ski over to Aspen Mountain and end at Gondola Plaza. This year’s event will go down on February 22nd. Great opportunity to root on the athletes and get a preview of the competition if you are thinking of signing up.
