New Mexico skiers rejoice! A fresh snowfall is inbound for Taos Ski Valley, potentially bringing just under a foot of new snow to the mountain over the next two days. That might not seem like a ton, but Taos currently only has a base depth of 24 inches, and has only seen one inch in the past 7 days.
On the low end of their forecast, between today (January 29) and tomorrow (January 30), Taos could see 6 inches of new snowfall. On the high end of their forecast, today and tomorrow could bring up to 11 inches of new snowfall.
Temperatures will be fairly low, too, with a high of 20°F today and a high of 18°F tomorrow. Plus wind speeds will sit around 17mph today and 18mph tomorrow, with gusts reaching up to 31mph today and 34mph tomorrow.
Taos isn’t the only New Mexico mountain expected snowfall, either. While not quite at the same level, Ski Santa Fe could see a total of 6 inches between today and tomorrow, with the low end of the forecast sitting at just 2 inches. Either way, new snow is new snow!
