The Freeride World Tour (FWT) made its triumphant return to Val Thorens, France, where the world’s best big mountain skiers and snowboarders were met with ideal conditions after a fresh snowfall on the Lac Noir face.
The terrain was steep and deep and the athletes pushed their limits with a combination of technical precision, flow, and progressive freestyle tricks. There were a few crashes that will shakeup the FWT ranking but we won’t be spoiling any of the results.
The next stop for the FWT will be at Kicking Horse Ski Resort in the incredible mountain town of Golden, British Columbia (Golden rules!) MORE INFO HERE.
ABOUT LAC NOIR:
Lac Noir, with a summit at 2,500 meters and a finish at 2,010 meters, is one of the most technical freeride venues of the season. Featuring an average steepness of 37 degrees and a maximum pitch of 43 degrees, its challenging terrain is enhanced by recent deep powder snowfalls. Starting from a wide ridge with rock formations and varied line options, the venue spans three stages, each demanding precise navigation and control, with rollovers, terrain transitions, and an opening jump requiring immediate technical skill.
