Tom Peiffer crash at the Freeride World Tour.

The 2025 Baqueira Beret Pro went down earlier this month, and while it was filled with some epic runs (like Ross Terster’s jaw-dropping winning run for the men’s skiing), the not-so-great conditions lent themselves a fair number of gnarly wipeouts.

While we never want to see a skier or snowboarder get injured, a hardcore wipeout is sometimes more fun to watch than even the most successful runs of the day, and Tom Peiffer‘s tomahawk wipeout might fit in that category.

The drama, the intensity, the action. Truly an epic shot, and it might already take the cake for the best wipeout of the entire season. Of course that was only the first stop, so we’ll have to see what goes on at the future events.

Perhaps best part of the crash is that Peiffer was mostly okay afterwards, suffering just some whiplash and a sore leg. For what it was, it could have been much, much worse.

The next stop of the Freeride World Tour is expected to kick off on Wednesday, January 29, at the Val Thorens Pro, where riders will face off on the Lac Noir face following some seriously deep snowfall. The live stream will start at 8:45 AM CET, with the competition beginning at 9:00 AM CET. You’ll be able to watch the competition live online here.
