New Hampshire — Thanks to a growing community, accessing the wilderness has become much easier for backcountry skiers and riders. This has led to many spots becoming too crowded. However, there are a few zones that are less frequented than the popular spots.
In the third episode of Drummond Days Out, Andrew Drummond of the White Mountain Ski Co, plus Jake Inger and Chris Shan, went on a multi-day trip into the Dry River Wilderness in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
After a multi-hour skin and a sleepover in a partially enclosed shelter, they found some soft skiing from some steep chutes and couloirs. It may not be Tuckerman Ravine, but that’s not a bad thing.
As a reminder, if you do venture into the backcountry, please bring a beacon, probe, and shovel.
