The dogs follow the leader inline while traveling uphill (not in pairs as is usual in classic dog sledding) and when it’s time for the descent they are let off leash to enjoy the powder like their ski partners.
“We are lucky to guide with our husky’s through the Tyrolean mountains. Nothing makes us and the dogs more happy than being out in the mountains. As mountain guide Hubs Basecamp Gramais it is my job to bring us and the huskys home in safety. Accordingly, we have developed a special setting consisting of kennel keeping, feeding, alpine leash, downhills in formation, ascent and pulling behavior in hairpin bends, etc. and manifest this in our routine.“
