Starting on January 4, 2025, both residents and visitors of Leadville, Colorado will be able to take advantage of a free shuttle service connecting the town to nearby Ski Cooper ski area.
The shuttle is set to operate on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the winter, running until April 6, 2025. Operated by the Downtowner, the shuttle will run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a break from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., making round trips every 30 minutes (subject to change based on weather and traffic).
It’s set to pick up in Leadville at the intersection of 3rd and Harrison Avenue, and drop skiers off at the unloading zone in front of the ticket window at Ski Cooper. It is the same shuttle that operates in town Monday-Friday.
“We’re excited to offer this free shuttle service for the first time. Ski Cooper is just a short ride away, and this shuttle makes it easier for visitors to enjoy the historic charm of Leadville and the fantastic skiing at Ski Cooper, all without the hassle of driving and parking. This shuttle will allow residents and employees to access Ski Cooper from downtown Leadville.” – Tourism Director Adam Ducharme.
Again, the new shuttle service will from from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, making round trips every 30 minutes, from January 4 to April 6 of 2025.
