At around 9:20am on Tuesday, December 3, a 70-year-old bicyclist was hit by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident in Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Highway 11 and the road towards Namakanipaio Campground. An investigation has been launched by National Park Service law enforcement officers, and anyone with information are encouraged to come forward.
The vehicle was reportedly described as a gold-colored sedan by witnesses, while the victim is a 70-year-old male from Volcano.
