Steamboat Resort just opened this past weekend, kicking off the 2024/25 with a classic opening day party. And while most resorts typically spend a few weeks with extremely limited terrain, the Colorado resort is already getting ready to open up Sunshine Bowl, marking the earliest the area has opened in Steamboat history.
Ropes at Sunshine Bowl will drop on Tuesday, November 26, with Wild Blue Gondola, Sunshine Express, Sundown, Elkhead, and South Peak lifts all spinning for skiers and snowboarders. The opening will include 6 new trails, including Upper and Lower High Noon, Spike, and Spur Run. Additionally Greenhorn Ranch Express is set to open for the beginners.
Steamboat has already seen a season total of 31 inches of snowfall, and more is on the way for this week. As of Monday, November 25, the resort has 4 of 23 lifts and 12 of 181 runs open to skiers and snowboarders. With the addition of Sunshine Bowl and the Greenhorn Ranch Express, Steamboat will be up to 10 of 23 lifts open.
