Most excellent news for all you Mt. Hood Meadows Resort skiers and snowboarders as ample autumn snowfall and snow-harvesting efforts are allowing the Oregon resort the earliest opening day in 15 years.
Mt. Hood Meadows Resort will celebrate the kickoff to its 57th year of operations with a preview weekend this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Meadows will be spinning Buttercup, Easy Rider, and Daisy from 9am-4pm, well ahead of schedule as the resort usually aims for a Thanksgiving opening day:
“It’s such an incredible position to be in to be able to open ahead of schedule, and we’re excited to kick off what’s sure to be another amazing season of skiing and riding.” -Greg Pack, Mt. Hood Meadows Resort President & GM
Early season conditions will exist and guests are asked to stay on groomed runs and watch for unmarked obstacles. After the preview weekend the resort will reevaluate conditions midweek and provide an update about additional operating days, lifts, and terrain.
