Camp Hale, Colorado – Skiing has played a part in protecting our country.

In honor of Veteran’s Day, it’s an appropriate time to share a video about the history of the 10th Mountain Division. In this video by The History Guy: History Deserves to Be Remembered, he dives into the lore of the 10th Mountain Division. While this unit was among the last Americans deployed to Europe, they still played a significant part in winning World War 2. Their experiences at Camp Hale helped them break the stalemate in Italy, leading to an Allied victory in 1945. Veterans of the program created various ski areas across the U.S., helping sculpt what the U.S. ski industry is today. The 10th Mountain Division remains active, specializing in mountainous environments.

Climb to Glory!
