19-year-old professional stunt rider Brock Johnson of Santa Cruz, California has a number of notable accomplishments including the world record for “bike surfing” distance on flat ground but his heroics on the streets of San Francisco may be the wildest thing he has done on two wheels.

Bike surfing is a simple but dangerous stunt where a cyclist balances one foot on the handlebars and the another on the seat. It’s been around for decades and some believe Brock is the best to ever do it.

San Francisco’s Stanyan Street isn’t typically included in lists of the city’s steepest streets as its pitch isn’t sustained for it’s entire length but the top section where it intersects with Belgrave Ave. is incredibly steep. Check out Brock as he rounds the corner of Belgrave and Stanyan holds on for dear life.

To provide context of just how ludicrous Brocks bike surf descent of Stanyan Street was, world renown stunt rider Danny MacAskill had this to say about it:

“I’ve seen many things but this is up there with the maddest of them!”
