Electric mountain bikes might be a bit of a controversial statement for some people in the cycling world. Personally I wouldn’t want one for myself, but I understand and appreciate their value. If you’re more worried about covering large distances or just easily getting to the downhills, then an eBike is probably a great option for you. Or if you’re snowboarding legends Jeremy Jones and Elena Hight, you might use them to get deeper into the backcountry later in the season.
“Learn how snowboarding legends Jeremy Jones & Elena Hight uses the Turbo Levo to unlock new terrain to ride in the early winter, late spring, and more.“
This is clearly an ad for the Specialized Turbo Levo, but it’s a very interesting concept. It’s like using snowmobiles to quickly access areas deep in the backcountry but for the spring and fall seasons. If you’re hoping to reach some gnarly spring couloir, you don’t want to cook your legs long before you get there. The eBike makes that possible while still providing access to areas that probably don’t allow dirt bikes or other gas vehicles.
