As a skier that grew up in New England, Ski The East videos were often one of very few pieces of ski media that I could truly relate to. They don’t highlight waste deep powder skiing in California or epic big mountain lines in Alaska, they highlight the best days of the year in the tight trees of New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.
The first episode of Ski The East’s ‘Promised Land’ season five was released today, highlighting an all-time epic powder day on Mt. Mansfield, the tallest mountain in Vermont.
“An all-time day. Though few and far between, those truly deep days do come. The crew rallied for a mega mission from morning first tracks to night laps, cruising through the most blower powder of the season.“
While Stowe Mountain Resort is located on Mt. Mansfield, it does not take up the entire mountain and it doesn’t reach the summit. Backcountry skiing on Mt. Mansfield is pretty popular, with the Mansfield Backcountry Alliance working to create safe and accessible man-powered skiing in the area.
