22-year-old Max Hitzig made his Freeride World Tour debut back in 2023, throwing down several electrifying runs and earning himself the FWT 2023 Men Rider of the Year title. In 2024, Hitzig returned and dominated, leading to a FWT Champion Title at the end of the season. He’s returned for the 2025 ski season, and we can’t wait to see what he has in store for the world.
The Freeride World Tour sat down with Hitzig to ask him a host of questions, ranging from his inspirations as a freeride skier to how he approaches each competition. He discusses scoping lines, balancing both competition and filming, risk management, and much more.
