DØDS diving world record set @ 137 feet
DØDS diving world record set @ 137 feet

Shoutout to 22-year-old French DØDS diver Lucien Charlon who set the world record for highest DØDS dive at 137 feet from the Le Day Viaduct in Switzerland.

Døds diving is an extreme form of freestyle diving originating from Norway where athletes jump from heights typically between 10 to 15 meters and just before impacting the water curl into a fetal position landing feet and hands first, somewhere between a bellyflop and cannonball style.

Lucien Charlon not only broke the record but he did it with style spinning a torpedo 720 before entering the water horizontally with a tectonic splash. To be clear, this style of diving is extremely dangerous and should only be attempted by professionals. Do not attempt this at your local high dive or cliff jumping spot:

“DØDS WORLD RECORD 41.7 meters. 137 feet for the English speakers. What a perfect jump to end my send season. Thanks to all the people who have supported me and made it possible to reach this goal. I’m going to take some time off after this 6-month non-stop send season and come back even stronger.” -Lucien Charlon
