Mountain High Ski Patrol fundraiser to replace buildings and equipment destroyed in wildfire.
Mountain High Ski Patrol fundraiser to replace buildings and equipment destroyed in wildfire.

The Mountain High Ski Patrol has launched a crowdfunding campaign after a wildfire incinerated two of their buildings and much of their rescue equipment. The fundraiser is run by the ski patrol with no third parties involved whatsoever.

The ski patrol lost two bump shacks in the Bridge Fire. They contained “all of our toboggans, lift evac bags, and much much more.” Beyond the rescue equipment lost, the blaze also destroyed many cherished items of sentimental value from the years of hard work and camaraderie that define this proud group of patrollers.

“It is almost unreal to see. The most recent fire destroyed two of our bump shacks at our West resort. The most devastating was REX. Our main bump shack. Where many memories have been made. Where candidates became Ski Patrollers. And where friends became family. We’ve lost all of our toboggans, lift evac bags, and much much more.

We are reaching out to invite our community to support the recovery through a go-fund-me. Your contributions will go directly to the Mountain High Ski Patrol department. We hope to rebuild REX and get the equipment we need to be able to train new candidates and serve our guests and family here in Southern California. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference and is greatly appreciated.

We are also humbly asking our Ski Patrol community from other resorts to lend a hand if at all possible. If you could donate a toboggan or lift evac bag it would mean so much to us. Anything helps.

Please visit the link in our bio to access the go-fund-me. Thank you for considering supporting Mountain High Ski Patrol during this crucial time. We wish you all the best and hope to be able to see you this winter!”

This is a truly devastating event and our heart goes out to the ski patrollers of Mountain High. If you would like to contribute to their fundraiser, please do so HERE.
