Nevada — The Davis Fire didn’t just harm trees and structures, as a rescue from this week demonstrated.

Yesterday, Tahoe Meadows Fire & Rescue detailed a rescue from this week. While fighting the Davis Fire, firefighters were notified that a bear that needed assistance off Granite Ridge Road. Nugget, the twenty-five-year-old bear, was injured from the wildfire, resulting in burnt paws and marks around his head. Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue notified the Nevada Department of Wildlife, and the two worked together to get the bear to treatment.
