East Rutherford, New Jersey – It’s time for another round of who was in the wrong in the skier versus snowboarder rivalry.
Last Week, BTN Adventures shared a video of a snowboarder and skier colliding in the Northern Lights Park at Big SNOW American Dream. In the video, a skier tried out a three-part box feature but stopped halfway through. The snowboarder, riding closely behind him, didn’t notice, swept the legs, and both crashed. Luckily, it seems like both were not seriously hurt by the collision.
Ultimately, it seems like both parties were in the wrong, although one individual made a more significant mistake than the other. The snowboarder should have stopped going down the hill and waited until the skiers cleared the features. One of the biggest rules for terrain park skiing is letting someone clear the feature before dropping in. However, the collision was also caused by the skier stopping on the second feature. If you know you aren’t getting through the full feature, you must get off. So I’d probably place 75% blame on the snowboarder and 25% on the skier.
