ITALY – Windy chairlifts are never fun. Frigid cold, rocking back and forth, it can be seriously scary. Wind holds are a pain (east coast skiers, you know what I’m talking about), but they exist for a very good reason. This clip from the Breuil-Cervinia Ski Resort in the Valle d’Aosta region of northwest Italy, taken in late March of this past year, shows why they can be so necessary.
Apparently nobody was hurt and the lift was shut down shortly thereafter. But experiencing 65mph winds while stuck on a chairlift is a surefire way to make sure you never want to board another ski lift in your life.
