Tom Curren’s heyday as a professional surfer may have been the 80s and 90s but the 60-year-old is still ripping like a champ. Tom was the first American to win the World Surf League global title back in 1985. He went on to win two more in 1986 and 1990. During his career on tour he won 33 events, the second most of all time behind Kelly Slater.
Known as one of surfing first true superstars, Tom pioneered progressive competitive surfing paving the way for future generations. His contributions to the sport are undeniable and his current level of skill on the water defies age.
