ARGENTINA – Professional freeride skier Tao Kreibich has been skiing like a maniac in South America these past several weeks, and it’s got us very jealous. The snow looks truly incredible, and from what we’ve heard about much of South America, it is incredible.
If you’re hoping to make your way to South America this summer (time is definitely running out to do so) or next, there are several resorts throughout the continent that are worth your attention. Las Leñas is probably the most popular in Argentina, while Ski Portillo and Valle Nevado are both very much worth the attention they get in Chile.
Ski Portillo‘s season ends on September 28, meaning you have just a little more than a month to take advantage of the all-inclusive ski resort. But there’s still plenty of snow in South America, as we can clearly see from Tao’s video. Ski Portillo currently has a snow depth of 120 cm (~4 feet) at the hotel, after receiving 647 cm (~21 feet) throughout the entire season so far.
