Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner went for an inland surf vacation in Lemoore, California where the check into Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch. Under the expert instruction of Raimana Van Bastolaer, Ivanka managed to catch a few waves but was guilty of the cardinal sin of kook surfing style…the dreaded “poo stance.”
It super common for beginner surfers to use “poo stance” where you squat equally bent legs instead of the far more aesthetically pleasing and performance enhancing of tilting the back knee slightly forward and pointing the front foot more towards the top of the board. Takes practice to iron out these style faux pas and there’s no better place than Kelly Slater’s personal manmade wave to get a ton of repetitions without having to wait around for sets:
