Kristen Faulkner talks how a background in finance helped her train for cycling.

PARIS, France – Kristen Faulkner was one of the best stories from this year’s summer Olympics in Paris. Faulkner was a Harvard-Radcliffe Lightweight Rowing athlete, but she didn’t start cycling until after college. Within just around 10 years, she went from biking as a hobby, to being a 2x Olympic Gold Medalist, one medal in the road race and one in the team pursuit track cycling event. According to this pre-Olympic interview, her background in finance helped her train for all of it.

Kristen Faulkner takes an interesting approach to training as a professional road cyclist. Her background in venture capital taught her how to learn quickly and take calculated risks. She figured out how to apply that knowledge to excel on the world stage in cycling.
