Eden, Utah – It’s been a busy offseason for Powder Mountain.

The Utah ski resort is adding four new chairlifts this offseason, two of which are chairlift replacements. For some locals, the project they’re most excited about is the replacement of Paradise. The fixed-grip quad chairlift, which had a long ride time of 13 minutes, is being replaced by a Doppelmayr detachable high-speed quad.

Last Friday, Powder Mountain gave the latest update on one of its chairlift projects. Work on replacing the Paradise chairlift has begun. So far, they’ve removed the chairs, terminals, cross-arms, and lift towers. Next up is the installation of the new chairlift.

The other projects are replacing the Timberline chairlift and adding chairlifts to the Lightning Tree and Raintree terrain pods. The Timberline chairlift, which was an old fixed triple chairlift, is being replaced by a fixed-grip quad. Lightning Ridge, which was previously only accessible by cat-skiing, is getting a new fixed-grip quad chairlift. Raintree, which was previously serviced by cat-skiing, is also getting a chairlift. However, the Raintree chairlift will only be for private club members.

All of these new chairlifts are expected to open during the 2024-25 ski season.
