The world’s first smart bike helmet with modular construction is live on Kickstarter and it has already surpassed its crowdfunding goal of $20,000 with a whooping $92,505 pledged with 45 days before the campaign expires. NEON Helmet for Adults by UNIT 1 features powerful integrated rear lights, crash alert technology, and is fully compatible with UNIT 1’s turn signals and automatic brake lights (sold separately). UNIT 1 already has a smart helmet line but the NEON is the first with modular components so you can swap out the shell, battery and electronics. The helmets are currently available for pre-order starting at $129. Prices vary if you would like add-ons like detachable visors or handlebar turn signals which are both pretty nifty.
