PORTILLO, Chile – Ski Portillo is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, welcoming skiers (and later snowboarders) to their slopes since 1949.

Portillo’s 500 hectares (~1235.5 acres) of skiable terrain is spread across 35 slopes, 25% of which is designated as expert terrain, and 30% of which is designated as advanced terrain (30% intermediate, 15% beginner). Plus, ticket sales can be limited day-by-day to prevent overcrowding and lift lines.

The area’s 2024 ski season was originally set to begin on June 20, running until late September. But, thanks to heavy early season snowfall, the resort has announced an early opening through the first three weekends of June.
