Somehow Sam Studee managed to build a functioning wakesurf board out of pure ice, and it works surprising well. Right up until it doesn’t.
If I was in need of a board, I probably wouldn’t reach for ice as the first material. It’s a wicked cool experiment though, and the water moving underneath the board is probably the coolest thing I’ve seen today.
It’s a very ‘Cody Maverick’-esque board. Right up until he gets his first real board, of course (watch Surf’s Up if you don’t know what I’m talking about). Even the snapping in half feels right with this one.
Sam does a whole lot of these board-experiments on his TikTok, including attempting to foil a table. And it works. Somehow.
