Helicopter logging, or heli-logging, is the use of helicopters to remove cut trees from the forests. It’s typically done in extremely remote areas, lowering the required infrastructure for logging in specific areas. Because roads and heavy operations aren’t required, the heli-logging can increase productivity and lowers the environmental impact of the industry.

I hadn’t heard of heli-logging until today, but it has to be one of the coolest professions I’ve ever seen. Riding in helicopters through remote PNW forests, getting some of the best views you’ll ever experience, climbing trees while fully surrounded by nature. I imagine there are some seriously heavy risks associated with it, but it’s bada**.
