New Hartford, Connecticut- One of the core chairlifts at a popular Connecticut ski area will be replaced this summer.

Ski Sundown announced today that it will replace the Exhibition Triple this summer with a new Skytrac quad chairlift. This new chairlift will have ninety chairs, a loading conveyer at the base terminal, a length of 1999 feet, and a carrying capacity of 2400 people per hour. It will have a ride time of 4.5 minutes and go 450 feet per minute, which is faster than its predecessor’s 400 feet per minute.

Ski Sundown’s projected closing date is March 24th. After that, work will begin on the new chairlift, which will be installed this summer.
