A winter storm over the weekend dropped some much-needed snow on ski areas across the Northeast. Some of the more fortunate ski areas received as much as 20 inches of new snow. Unfortunately, ski areas to the south received rain that followed a week of rainy and warm temperatures that killed the snowpack. The stretch of unseasonably warm temperatures and rain has forced several ski resorts to close for the season.
