CRESTED BUTTE, ColoradoDespite this season feeling like a bit of a downer compared to the last, Crested Butte reached it’s 100% open point earlier this week when the ropes were dropped on Teo 2. This is just the fourth time in the history of the terrain in which the ropes have dropped.

Well folks, Patrol dropped the ropes on Teo 2 this afternoon meaning we are officially open WALL TO WALL!! An amazing feat and the skiing & riding is so much fun. Thank you to all of our Mountain Ops and Patrol teams for their continued hard work, we are all so thankful!

Teocalli 2, the full name for the terrain, is an expert only bowl located off the mountain’s High Lift. Targeted at advanced and expert skiers, the bowl opened as inbound terrain for the first time during the 2014-15 ski season. Exiting the terrain requires a 20-30 minute hike.

For reference, here’s a video tour of Teo 2, filmed last year by Colorado Camera.

“Last Friday the Crested Butte Mountain Resort Opened Teo 2 bowl for the third time in history. The last time the terrain, which is located on the backside of the mountain beyond main Teocali Bowl opened was back in 2016 so this was my first time skiing back there.” – Colorado Camera
