“We’re not seeing the shot of snow to get enough snow back to heal what we’ve lost and actually have enough to be able to run a fair and a fun event.” –Mt. Baker Ski Area CEO Gwyn Howat

Bummer news out of Washington State as Mt. Baker Ski Area CEO Gwyn Howat just announced the 36th Legendary Banked Slalom has been canceled due to a lack of snow.

The El Niño weather pattern has unfortunately brought warm weather conditions and rain to the area. Mt. Baker lost around 14 inches of snow since January 28th after getting smashed with an atmospheric river that delivered 5+ inches of rain on the resort.

The 36th running of the banked slalom has been rescheduled to for February 7-9, 2025. For a more information on the history of this incredible race and how you can participate in next year’s event GO HERE.
