Aspen’s Alex Ferreira put on a show for his hometown.
In what turned out to be an epic event, the X Games Men’s Ski Superpipe saw participants sending it to unreal heights and making sensational tricks. You could say that the competitors went X Games mode.
American Hunter Hess got his first X Games Medal, achieving a Bronze Medal with a score of 92.00. Nico Porteous had a sensational third run, earning the Silver Medal. This was his fourth X Games medal of his career and marks a remarkable recovery from his torn ACL back in 2022.
Even though Alex Ferreria was in the lead before his final lap, he decided to kick it up a notch. This third run included a top height of 17 feet and 6 inches, threw down four-way double cork variations, and topped it all off with a 1620 (!!!). X Games referred to the run as “the most technical run ever seen at an X Games Ski Superpipe competition.”
Here’s what Alex had to say about getting his third X Games gold:
“This is the sweetest redemption I’ve ever had. It feels amazing to do this in front of my hometown of Aspen, the crowd pops off. I know all the kids in the crowd. I know a lot of the adults and I ski with them at that ski club and to feel that love to feel that they want me to succeed is unbelievable, it’s electric and energetic, it’s fantastic.”
The top three runs from the event are below.
